This week, we discussed dimensional analysis problems and writing numbers in scientific notation. We also got more practice with questions I could ask you about a graph. The key points mentioned were:
- Starting with what you are given in a dimensional analysis/unit conversion problem and using the conversion factor properly to cancel out unwanted units
- Setting up your dimensional analysis/unit conversion problem with the units you wish to cancel being on the opposite side of the fraction bar (ex: starting with a number in kg and and multiplying it by the conversion factor with kg on the bottom of the fraction bar)
- Knowing the parts to a number written in scientific notation
- Knowing how to write a number in scientific notation and how to take a number out of scientific notation
Slope = - 0.5 Y-intercept = 10.00
